MIXOLOGY

It was really great to meet @maxcasacci and collaborate with him on the new videoclip “Mixology”, from the album "Urban Groovescapes (Earthphonia II)" I followed Max for almost a year, from the recording process at @barz8_torino, to the editing process in his studio, to the final exhibitions at @xerjoff_turin_boutique and @jurassicflaircompetition, where some of the world's most talented flair bartender performed on the notes of Mixology. This is a song dedicated to the art of mixology, made exclusively with the sounds of a cocktail bar (the Barz8 in Turin), without using any musical instruments. The rhythmic sounds come from the refrigerator door, ice emptied in the sink, shakers, taps, glass washer, and other typical bar noises. Melodic sounds were captured from the glass of glasses and glass mixers from which the note for the bass-line was also sampled. But also from uncorked corks and the clinking of metal scoops.

The video is all about the editing and the 'mixing' of three temporal phases.
The first and prevalent is Max's exhibition @xerjoff_turin_boutique, with the presence of a mini ledwall on his back and the wonderful visuals from Akasha.

The second, in black and white, is the process of recording sounds at Barz8, an historic cocktail bar in Turin.

The most edited part is from an event at Eataly@Lingotto, where flair bartenders from all over the world were involved in the Jurassic Flair Competition.
